Pros and Cons 

  • Good strength because of metal under porcelain​

  • Ideal for very dark stumps or metal post 

  • Covers all stump shades

  • Often a dark line at margin due to metal

    • Consider a porcelain shoulder margin when doing an anterior tooth 

  • Recommended for bridges of all sizes

  • 1.5-2 mm reduction recommended
